Dr. LaKimerly Coates is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology with over 25 years of experience in the field. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine, before pursuing her Medical Doctorate at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, where she graduated in 1996. Dr. Coates completed her dermatology residency at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
In 2002, Dr. Coates founded Rockford Dermatology, S.C., where she has provided exceptional dermatologic care to her community, specializing in general dermatology and Mohs surgery for skin cancer treatment. As a certified Mohs surgeon, Dr. Coates is highly skilled in the precise, microsurgical technique used to remove skin cancers while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Coates is the host of the podcast Skin Deep: Wellness Chronicles with Dr. Coates, where she shares expert insights on dermatology, wellness, and the balance between professional success and personal well-being. She also provides consultancy services, offering guidance to healthcare professionals and organizations seeking to optimize their practices and achieve their goals.
